A dietary staple throughout Europe and Asia, Yakult is the world’s leading probiotic beverage. However, in the U.S., it was still relatively unknown as bigger brands with bigger budgets overshadowed it in the market. To turn it all around, we created an integrated campaign—TV, display, search and social—to educate consumers on the benefits of Yakult’s unique strain of good bacteria while sharing the company’s rich history.
Central to this effort was a uniquely animated spot, which leverages a mix of live action, as well as 2D and 3D graphics, to create a multidimensional world that viewers can feel, taste and smell through the small screen. It was so well received that Yakult tapped Piston to extend the spot through sweepstakes, point of sale collateral and more.
As a result of our efforts, website traffic spiked, Facebook traffic has increased by 77%, more than 175,000 people now follow Yakult via social media and most importantly, sales are up 25% year over year in the U.S.
